UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2023 Results Declared: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the results of the Civil Services preliminary examination for the year 2023. Aspirants can access the results on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
The preliminary examination took place on May 28, and a total of 14,624 candidates have been recommended by the commission for further stages of the selection process. The qualified candidates will now proceed to appear for the mains examination, scheduled to be held from September 15 onwards. In addition to the Civil Services exam, the results for the Indian Forest Services exam have also been declared by the commission.
It is important to note that the candidature of these candidates is provisional. As per the examination rules, all successful candidates are required to apply again by filling the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2023. The dates and instructions for completing the DAF-I and its submission will be announced in due course.
Candidates eligible for the Civil Services Examination are allowed a maximum of six attempts. However, candidates belonging to SC and ST categories have unlimited attempts, while OBC candidates can make nine attempts. Similarly, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates from the general and EWS categories are also permitted nine attempts.
