Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review: Suspense and Thrills Unfold in Agra

“Haseen Dillruba” Sequel Review: “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba” Streaming on Netflix

Starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and Sunny Kaushal in lead roles, the 2021 OTT release “Haseen Dillruba” captured audiences with its bold and romantic crime thriller narrative.

Now, the sequel, “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” has been released and is currently streaming on Netflix. Let’s explore how this film has turned out.

Plot Overview:

Rani (played by Taapsee Pannu) marries Rishu Saxena (Vikrant Massey) after falling in love with him. However, she finds herself dissatisfied with a certain aspect of their relationship.

At this juncture, Neel (Harshvardhan Rane) enters their lives, and Rani is irresistibly drawn to him. In a moment of weakness, she gives in to her desires.

Eventually, Rishu learns about the affair, leading to a confrontation between the three.

In this conflict, Neel ends up dead. To cover up the crime, Rani and Rishu dispose of his body. To make it appear as if Rishu has died in the incident, he cuts off his own hand, leaving it as evidence for the police to find.

Due to the tattoo on the severed hand, the police conclude that Rishu has died, although they suspect Rani might have killed him. The first part concludes with Rani and Rishu successfully misleading the police.

Sequel Plot:

The second part begins in Agra. Rani and Rishu are living separately but continue to meet secretly. As everyone believes Rishu is dead, he remains in hiding.

Rishu’s uncle, who is a police officer, suspects Rani and assigns officer Kishore Rawat to keep an eye on her.

Meanwhile, a compounder named Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal) develops feelings for Rani, assuming she is alone. To mislead those spying on her, Rani marries Abhimanyu.

However, Abhimanyu soon discovers the truth and realizes that Rani and Rishu are planning to flee abroad. He promises to make the necessary arrangements for their escape.

Rishu realizes that Abhimanyu, though seemingly innocent, is deeply in love with Rani and plans to get rid of him to have her to himself.

Rani also discovers that Abhimanyu is not as innocent as he appears; he has been responsible for the deaths of his own relatives.

The story then revolves around what Rani will do next, Abhimanyu’s plans to win her over, whether Rishu can escape Abhimanyu’s clutches, and ultimately, who Rani will end up with.

Analysis:

The first part focused on the dynamic between the three main characters, culminating in Neel’s death. The second part introduces Abhimanyu, bringing the story back to a tense three-character dynamic.

The police team remains on Rani’s trail, and her clever manipulations keep the suspense alive.

As Rani and Rishu struggle to evade the police, Abhimanyu grows desperate to claim Rani for himself. The plot thickens from all sides, maintaining the audience’s interest with constant suspense. The pre-climax twists and the climax are satisfying.

The actors deliver excellent performances, with the screenplay keeping the audience engaged. Vishal Sinha’s cinematography, background music by Sachet-Parampara and Anurag Saikia, and Hemal Kothari’s editing all contribute effectively to the film.

There are no unnecessary scenes, and the sequel is as captivating as the first part. However, without watching the first part, the second part would be difficult to understand.
