Andhra Pradesh Government Restores Night Out Allowance for APSRTC Employees

APSRTC Staff to Receive ₹150 Night Out Allowance After Policy Reinstatement

The Andhra Pradesh government has reinstated the night-out allowance for APSRTC employees, offering ₹150 per day in addition to their regular salaries.

In a significant relief for Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) employees, the state government has announced the restoration of the night-out allowance. According to a recently issued government order (GO), APSRTC employees working night shifts will receive an additional ₹150 per day.

The allowance was discontinued after APSRTC’s merger with the state government during the YSR Congress Party’s administration. However, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to reinstate the benefit, addressing long-pending demands from APSRTC unions.

Employee unions, including the National Mazdoor Union of India (NMUI), welcomed the decision, expressing gratitude to the government. They also urged the authorities to release pending arrears related to the previous suspension of the night-out allowance.

The government’s decision has been hailed as a morale booster for APSRTC employees, many of whom work extended hours in challenging conditions. The reinstatement is expected to enhance job satisfaction and improve operational efficiency across the corporation.

Restoring the night-out allowance reflects the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to supporting APSRTC employees and recognizing their dedicated service.
