TTD Approves New Temple Construction Across India
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board held a significant meeting under the chairmanship of B.R. Naidu on Tuesday at Annamayya Bhavan, Tirumala. TTD EO J. Syamalarao participated in the meeting, during which several important resolutions were passed.
Key highlights from the TTD meeting include:
- Formation of an Expert Committee:
- As per CM Chandrababu Naidu’s directives, an expert committee will be set up to provide recommendations for the global expansion of TTD temples and assets. Further steps will be taken based on the committee’s report.
- Temple Construction in Key Locations Across India:
- Approval was given to build Sri Venkateswara temples in prominent regions of the country.
- SWIMS Hospital Upgrade:
- The committee resolved to recommend to the central government that the SWIMS Hospital in Tirupati be granted national status to improve medical services.
- Healthcare for Pilgrims on Footpath Routes:
- Necessary civil assistant surgeons, nurses, paramedical staff, and advanced medical equipment will be provided to enhance healthcare for pilgrims using footpaths.
- Feedback Management System:
- A feedback system will be set up to gather opinions from devotees, in collaboration with AP Digital Corporation.
- Improved Canteen Management:
- A new system will be implemented to license reputed organizations for managing canteens to ensure high-quality food for devotees. Additionally, 258 staff members will be contracted under SLCSMC to enhance the Annadanam (free food distribution) program.
- Financial Aid to Educational Institutions:
- ₹2 crore will be provided to a school managed by the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham from the SV Educational Trust.
- Food Safety Initiatives:
- A Food Safety Department will be established within TTD. A senior food safety officer post will be filled through SLCSMC Corporation.
- Sanitation Facilities for Devotees:
- ₹3.36 crore will be allocated to build six toilet blocks between Alwar Tank Rest House and Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Circle for the convenience of devotees in queue lines.
- Gold Kalasha for Ontimitta Temple:
- Approval was given for installing a gold Kalasha on the Vimana Gopuram of Ontimitta Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple at a cost of ₹43 lakh.
- Padmavathi Temple in Mumbai:
- A request will be made to the Maharashtra government to reduce the lease price for a 3.60-acre site allocated by CIDCO for constructing a Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru Temple in Mumbai.
