PV Sindhu enters second Olympic semi-final- India In Olympics- Tokyo 2020 Highlights
PV Sindhu, the reigning badminton world champion, progressed to the women’s singles semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics with a straight-game win against Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi on Friday.
She beat the fourth seed by a scoreline of 21-13, 22-20 in a tight 56-minute encounter.
Sindhu dominated the first game, but Yamaguchi came back spectacularly in the second and was defending for the game with a two-point lead at one point.
However, the 26-year old Indian shuttler maintained his composure and rebounded in the second game.
PV Sindhu has taken another stride in delivering her country another medal.
