Date, importance, and other vital information about Vishwakarma Puja 2021

Date of Vishwakarma Puja in 2021: On the first day of the sixth Hindu month according to the Solar calendar, Vishwakarma, the divine engineer/carpenter/mechanic/architect/sculptor of the Gods/Devas, is honoured.


Lord Vishwakarma is also regarded as the single architect and artisan of the whole trilok, or three realms, in Indian mythology (heaven, earth, and hell).

Lord Vishwakarma is known as the God’s Engineer, and he is one of the deities mentioned in the Rig Veda.

He is believed to have been born on Kanya Sankranti (the day the Sun enters the Kanya/Virgo sign).

As a result, according to the Gregorian calendar, the date of Vishwakarma puja stays relatively constant year after year.

Architects, carpenters, engineers, technicians, mechanics, and sculptors worship him, and special pujas are held in factories, mills, and workshops to honour the Universe’s creator.

Who exactly is Lord Vishwakarma?

Lord Vishwakarma is revered as a Gods’ engineer/carpenter/mechanic/architect/sculptor.

He constructed Lord Krishna’s Dwarika (which is now believed to be buried in the Arabian Sea), Ravana’s Lanka, and other structures.

Furthermore, Lord Vishwakarma is believed to have built the world-famous Jagannath temple in Puri.

Vishwakarma is also credited with creating Lord Shiva’s Trishul, Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshana Chakra, Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana, and Indra’s Vajra (thunderbolt).

He is portrayed as a wise, massively beard-bearing guy with four hands.

In his upper right and left hands, he carries a measuring tape and a scale, while in his lower right and left hands, he carries a book and a pot.
