Brooklyn subway shooting: At least 13 injured
Thirteen individuals were injured in a shooting at a New York City subway station during morning rush hour.
According to authorities, at least 13 people were shot and others were injured at a subway station in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on Tuesday.
Injured people may be seen at New York City’s 36th Street subway station.
Authorities believe the gunman acted alone, and an investigation is continuing to discover the suspect’s motivation.
Authorities describe the suspect as a guy about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds.
The suspect, according to investigators, threw smoke bombs and opened fire. The victims then alighted at the 36th Street station.
At 08:30 a.m. local time, an unidentified assailant blew a smoke bomb and opened fire at Brooklyn’s 36th Street station (12:30 GMT).
Bloodied passengers were seen laying on the floor of the smoke-filled station, according to images from the site.
Ten of those being treated for injuries were shot, while others were injured due to smoke inhalation and injuries incurred during the initial panic.
