Telangana Chief Minister KCR formally placed the foundation stone for the Hyderabad Express Metro to Airport.
Once completed, it will cut the time required to get from the city to the airport by half, to just 26 minutes.
It is estimated to cost Rs. 6250 crores and will provide connectivity between Mindspace Junction and Hyderabad Airport at Shamshabad.
A multi-location check-in facility will also be offered.
For the comfort of the passengers, each station will have bolster-free bogies and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates.
To keep passengers informed about the flights, every airport metro station will contain a Flight Information Display (FID) and information desk.
The project will provide public transit to southern Hyderabad in addition to acting as a crucial link between the Aerocity in Adibatla and the intended Pharma City.
