Moscow Goa flight under fear of bombing; emergency landing

Due to a bomb threat, a flight carrying 244 passengers from Moscow to Goa had to make an emergency landing at Jamnagar airport in Gujarat.

Moscow Goa flight’s occupants were all foreign nationals.

They were removed from the aircraft safely. The airport’s bomb disposal personnel, who were already on standby, took possession of the aircraft and began their inspection.

Moscow Goa flight was diverted to Jamnagar airport and landed after Goa Air Traffic Control (ATC) received a tip-off regarding the possibility of a bomb in the vehicle.

The aircraft is at this time isolated.

The flight’s 236 passengers and eight staff members were successfully evacuated Friday night at around 9.49 p.m., according to the director of Jamnagar Airport.

According to Goa Police, the flight, which departed from Moscow, was intended to land at Goa’s Dabolim airport.

However, as a result of the bomb threat, it was diverted to Jamnagar.

No suspicious items were discovered inside the aeroplane, according to the National Security Guard (NSG), who checked it thoroughly all night.

Each passenger’s luggage, according to the Jamnagar SP, has been inspected. After it was discovered that the bomb danger was imminent, the aircraft was given permission to proceed to Goa.

According to officials, the flight is scheduled to depart at 10 am.
