Brisbane Test: India Struggles as Australia Takes Commanding Lead

Brisbane Test: India Bowled Out for 260; Australia Gains 185-Run Advantage

In the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane, India’s first innings concluded at 260, trailing Australia by 185 runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep’s partnership was the highlight of India’s innings.

India resumed the final day of the Brisbane Test at 252/9 but could add only eight more runs before being bowled out. The 47-run partnership between Jasprit Bumrah (10) and Akash Deep (31) helped India avoid the follow-on, a small consolation in an otherwise challenging innings.

Australia’s first-innings total of 445 was built on strong performances, putting India under immense pressure. Despite half-centuries from KL Rahul (84) and Ravindra Jadeja (77), the Indian batting lineup failed to deliver collectively.

Australian bowlers, led by Pat Cummins with four wickets, showcased their dominance. Mitchell Starc added three scalps, while Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, and Travis Head chipped in with one wicket each.

Rain interruptions on the final day made the likelihood of a draw high. However, with a lead of 185 runs, Australia could adopt an aggressive approach in their second innings, eyeing a possible win if weather permits.

India faces an uphill battle in the Brisbane Test as Australia maintains a commanding lead. The final day’s play will test India’s resolve against a determined Australian side.
