Tollywood Industry Urged to Promote Tourism as CM Revanth Reddy Outlines New Policies
In a meeting with prominent figures from the film industry, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a significant announcement regarding the state’s cinema policies. He declared that benefit shows and hikes in movie ticket prices would no longer be allowed.
He reaffirmed his stance by referencing statements made in the Assembly by him and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The Chief Minister emphasized that prior permissions and proper arrangements would be mandatory for approving film events, stressing that there would be no compromise on law and order. Additionally, he stated that stricter regulations would be enforced concerning the use of bouncers at events.
Revanth Reddy clarified that the government is not against the film industry and assured that no cases have been filed with malicious intent. He reiterated the government’s full support for the development of the Telugu film industry and proposed forming a committee to consider requests for additional incentives for film shootings in Telangana.
He also encouraged Tollywood to promote temple tourism and eco-tourism. Furthermore, he highlighted the responsibility of celebrities to manage their fans during movie releases and public events.
Industry Leaders Respond
Veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao appreciated the government’s efforts, stating that past Chief Ministers have supported the film industry, and the current administration is no different. He welcomed the appointment of producer Dil Raju as the Chairman of the Telangana State Film Development Corporation. Murali Mohan expressed confidence in the government and shared his disappointment over the recent incident at Sandhya Theatre. Meanwhile, Allu Aravind remarked that this day marks a positive milestone for the Telugu film industry.
