1-At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Achinta Sheuli wins a gold medal in weightlifting.
When competing in the men’s 73 kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham’s NEC Hall 1, Indian weightlifter Achinta Sheuli, 20, set a new games record by lifting 313 kg in total.
He defeated Canada’s S. Darsigny for bronze with a total of 298 kg and Malaysia’s Erry Hidayat Muhammad for silver with lifts of 143 kg in the snatch and 170 kg in the clean and jerk to win the competition.
The gold medal won by Sheuli is India’s third at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022 and its sixth overall, all in weightlifting.

2-CWG 2022: India’s Jeremy makes weightlifting history by winning the gold medal
In the men’s 67 kg final on Sunday at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, Indian weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga broke the world record with a combined lift of 300 kg.
At CWG 2022, Jeremy handed the country its second gold medal and fifth medal overall. With his world-record lifts of 140 kg in the snatch category and 160 kg in the clean and jerk category, he broke the Commonwealth Games lifting record with a total lift of 300 kg.
Vaipava Ioane of Samoa, who weighed 127 kg, came in third. Edidiong Joseph Umoafia, who weighed 130 kg, came in second.

3-Bindyarani Devi wins silver in the women’s 55 kg weightlifting event, giving India a total of four medals for the CWG 2022.

India has won four weightlifting matches that day. Overall, she lifted 202 kg. After lifting 86 kg in the snatch round, Devi achieved a new Commonwealth Games record lift of 116 kg in the clean and jerk round.
With an overall weight of 203 kg, Adijat Adenike Olarinoye of Nigeria won the gold medal by shattering the Games’ records for the snatch and total effort (92 kg 111 kg).
Prior to Mirabai Chanu, Sanket Sargar and Gururaja Poojary had won silver and bronze, respectively, while India had not yet won a gold medal.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Bindyarani Devi for her accomplishment and said that it had made everyone in India very happy
