Eric Boehlert: Journalist and media critic dead at age 57 after being struck by train while on bike
Journalist Eric Boehlert, a persistent journalist whose criticism pushed through right-wing media prejudice, was killed by a train while riding in New Jersey.
Boehlert was riding his bike in Montclair, New Jersey, where he resided with his wife and two children, when he was killed by a NJ Transit train on April 4 about 10 p.m.
According to his wife Tracy Breslin, “more than he was a ferocious protector of truth… he was the sweetest, coolest man.”
According to a family statement, “Eric was brimming with bright enthusiasms and passions in life as a loving spouse, father, sibling, uncle, and friend.”
