K.T. Rama Rao Summoned by ACB in Formula E Race Scandal
The controversy surrounding the Formula E car race is stirring up Telangana politics. Recently, the Telangana government revealed several key details about the event, alleging that quid pro quo took place.
According to government sources, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party reportedly benefited significantly from the event organized by Greenko, a renewable energy company.
Officials disclosed that Greenko paid BRS Rs. 41 crores through electoral bonds. They further stated that Greenko and its affiliate companies purchased BRS bonds a total of 26 times between April 8, 2022, and October 10, 2022.
Meanwhile, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of BRS and an accused (A1) in the case, appeared at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) office for questioning today. However, he left without attending the inquiry after the police reportedly did not allow his lawyers to accompany him. Sources indicate that ACB officials are considering issuing fresh summons to KTR.
