Review
Sudheer Babu’s new film, Harom Hara, released in theaters on June 14 and is now streaming on Aha.

The movie features routine storytelling with high levels of violence and bloodshed.

Sudheer Babu, known for selecting roles that suit his body language, continues this trend in Harom Hara.

Produced by Sumanth G Naidu and directed by Gnanasagar Dwaraka, the film is set in the 1980s in Kuppam.

Tammireddy (Lakki Lakshman) is a powerful figure in Kuppam, with his nephew Sharath Reddy (Arjun Gowda) assisting in his misdeeds, including land grabs. With police support, the common people are helpless.

Subrahmanyam (Sudheer Babu) arrives in this setting as a lab assistant at a local polytechnic college, working to pay off his father’s (Jayaprakash) debts.

He falls in love with Devi (Malvika Sharma), a teacher at the same college. After a conflict with Tammireddy’s men, Subrahmanyam loses his job.

He befriends Palani Swamy (Sunil), a suspended head constable, who involves Subrahmanyam in illegal arms manufacturing and smuggling.

The duo uses an old movie hall for their operations. Tammireddy’s gang starts buying weapons from them. Subrahmanyam cleverly hides guns in bricks, but his competition angers the Mumbai gang.

During a conflict, Subrahmanyam’s father gets hurt, leading to a fight with Sharath Reddy, who ends up in a coma. Tammireddy’s brother Basavareddy attacks Subrahmanyam in revenge but dies.

The rest of the story follows Tammireddy’s reaction and Subrahmanyam’s fate.

Analysis
The film has several flaws in its plot and character design. The protagonist’s sudden shift from a peaceful job to arms manufacturing with the help of a suspended constable seems unrealistic.

The heroine’s passive acceptance of the hero’s illegal activities is peculiar. The narrative suggests that weapons are a necessity for the powerful, which is a troubling message.

The villain’s arc is underdeveloped, and the story strangely focuses more on Basavareddy instead of the main antagonist.

The heroine’s role is insignificant. The introduction of mafia characters is chaotic and unresolved.

Technical Aspects
Aravind Vishwanathan’s cinematography and Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score are adequate, but the songs fail to connect. Ravi Teja Girijala’s editing is mediocre.

The director’s focus on the lead roles of Sudheer Babu and Ravi Kale leaves other characters underdeveloped. Despite action scenes revolving around father-son emotions, the lack of emotional depth reduces the impact, leaving behind only violence.

Interestingly, the hero exhibits more brutality than the villain.
