PV Sindhu beats Cheung to cruise to Tokyo Olympics badminton knockouts-India in olympics
PV Sindhu easily defeated her Hong Kong rival Cheung Ngan Yi, winning 21-9, 21-16 to advance to the knockout rounds.
Sindhu won her group after to her second victory in the group stages and will most likely play Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt.
The 26-year-old Indian advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s singles badminton.
It took place at the Tokyo Olympics after beating Hong Kong’s NY Cheung in a Group encounter on Wednesday.
7th in the world Sindhu won her opening match against Ksenia Polikarpova of Israel.
