Jasprit Bumrah’s Exit Mid-Match a Setback for India; Kohli Leads in His Absence
India faced a major setback during the second day of the ongoing Test match against Australia in Sydney when stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah unexpectedly left the field. The incident occurred after the completion of the 31st over, when Bumrah complained of discomfort due to an injury.
Following this, he was taken to a hospital for scans, accompanied by the medical team. With Bumrah’s sudden exit, Virat Kohli was handed the captaincy responsibilities.
Bumrah’s departure comes as a significant blow to Team India, especially during a critical phase of the match.
Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers put up an impressive performance, causing a batting collapse for the Australian team. Australia lost nine wickets for 166 runs. At present, Australia has scored 173 runs, trailing India by 12 runs.
Among the Indian bowlers, Prasidh Krishna led the attack by claiming three wickets, while Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Nitish Kumar picked up two wickets each.
