Jaya Prada: Freed from Case, Reaffirms Commitment to Rampur

Former MP and actress Jaya Prada received significant relief from the Special Court for Public Representatives in Rampur, as it dismissed the election code violation case against her. The court declared her not guilty due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

The case stemmed from allegations that Jaya Prada conducted a public meeting and inaugurated a road without permission in Surpur during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while the election code of conduct was in force. She had contested the Rampur parliamentary seat as a BJP candidate.

A case was filed against her at the Swar Police Station, but the court ruled in her favor after reviewing the evidence. Jaya Prada’s lawyer, Arun Prakash Saxena, confirmed the dismissal of the case and her acquittal.

Relief and Reactions From Jaya Prada

Jaya Prada expressed her happiness over the court’s verdict, stating that some people had conspired to prevent her from entering Rampur.

However, she reiterated that Rampur is like a second home to her, and she would continue to visit frequently. Jaya Prada also declared her intention to contest the next elections from the same place.

Regarding rumors about her potential candidacy in the by-election for the Kundarki Assembly seat in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, Jaya Prada stated that she would follow the decision made by the party’s senior leaders.
