China is no longer involved in the construction of the United Kingdom’s nuclear power facility. The new Sizewell C power station in the UK is no longer operated by the Chinese company China General Nuclear (CGN).
The conservative government of Rishi Sunak has divested China’s CGN of its contentious 20% interest in its power plant project.
The choice was made one day after UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared that the “golden period of UK-China relations is finished.”
