1 – A US panel issues its final report on the Capitol riot, referring to it as Donald Trump’s plan

The final report from a US Congress subcommittee on the Capitol disturbance in January 2021 has been made public. The panel characterised the events as part of Donald Trump’s “multi-part plot” to reverse his loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential race.

In January 2021, supporters of Donald Trump broke into the Capitol building in Washington, DC, in an effort to prevent the US Congress from officially recognising Joe Biden’s victory over the Republican nominee as the winner of the Electoral College vote.
