2-Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das dies at age 60 after being shot by a cop in the chest
The health minister for Odisha, Naba Kishore Das, was shot on January 29 by an assistant sub-inspector. Around 1:00 pm, the incident occurred near Jharsuguda’s Gandhi Chowk. According to reports, 60-year-old Das was shot in the chest while travelling to an event. The minister was fired upon twice by the assistant sub-inspector. Das was taken emergency medical care. At the Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Das passed away as a result of his wounds. Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik denounced the assault.
3-China: A 5.9-magnitude earthquake strikes the country’s southeast
On Monday morning, an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 5.9 occurred in China. The earthquake struck at 5:49 am in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, 111 kilometres south-east of Aral, a sub-prefecture-level city surrounded by Aksu Prefecture, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) (local time). But so far, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
