At the Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam, President Droupadi Murmu flew her first sortie in a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet.
Murmu received Guard of Honor upon arrival at the Tezpur Air Force Station during his three-day visit to Assam from April 6 to 8.
She made history as the second female head of state to pilot a combat aircraft.
Pratibha Patil, a former president, took off aboard a front-line Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet from the Pune air force base in 2009.
