China implemented restrictions on the import of fruit and fish from the Island Nation while delaying sand shipments because of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

Pelosi’s visit, which marked the highest-profile elected American official to visit Taiwan in 25 years and the second in line for the presidency, sparked a diplomatic uproar.

As a result of American steps, China also summoned the American ambassador in Beijing.

Nancy Pelosi arrived on the island under a barrage of Chinese threats and military manoeuvres, putting Taiwan on high alert.

At 10.45 p.m. local time (3.45 p.m. BST), the speaker of the US House of Representatives arrived in Taipei, making history as the most prominent American official to visit the city in 25 years.

7-After an Andhra workplace gas leak, 121 women were hospitalised; a probe was ordered.

An incident involving a gas leak at a garment factory’s employees in the Brandix Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Atchutapuram area has prompted the Andhra Pradesh government to conduct a high-level investigation into the incident.

The Anakapalle district’s female workers complained of nausea, vomiting, and shortness of breath; some of them even fainted; and they were sent to several hospitals.

There was reportedly a second such incident there in the past two months after the incident on June 3 in the same place, where more than 300 female workers passed out after complaining of eyesores, nausea, and vomiting.

10- After 27 Chinese aircraft entered the Air Defense Zone, Taiwan deployed anti-aircraft missile systems.

Hours after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left Taipei on a high-stakes visit that heightened tensions in the Taiwan Strait, China sent 27 aircraft to Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ), the island’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.

Taiwan deployed anti-aircraft missile systems and sent out an air patrol in reaction to Chinese aggressiveness to keep an eye on the situation.
