Mahindra BE05: Mahindra’s New EV Car Hits the Roads with Unmatched Design
Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to introduce several new electric vehicles in the Indian market. The brand will release electric vehicles under the XUV and BE monikers.
The first electric vehicle in the BE variant is the BE05, which Mahindra calls a Sports Electric Vehicle (SEV). This car is expected to launch in October 2025.
Recently, the electric SEV was spotted on Indian roads, indicating that Mahindra has finalized the design language for its electric SUV. Let’s delve into more details about the Mahindra BE05.
The overall design of the electric SEV resembles the production version of a concept shown a few years ago. However, the production version will come with smaller alloy wheels with sidewall tires, suitable for Indian road conditions.
The Mahindra BE.05 is supported by the INGLO platform, which will also be used for other electric vehicles Mahindra plans to manufacture.
The dimensions of the Mahindra BE.05 electric coupe SUV are a length of 4,370 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, and a height of 1,635 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.
The INGLO platform is scalable, capable of underpinning vehicles between 4.3 meters and 5 meters. Mahindra will come with a floorboard battery pack. The flat floor allows three people to travel comfortably. The platform supports battery packs ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh.
These battery packs are compatible with blade batteries as well as prismatic battery packs. These batteries can charge at a speed of 175 kW, enabling a 0-80% charge in less than 30 minutes.
