Margherita Hack: The Italian astrophysicist Google paid tribute with a doodle
On Saturday, Google paid homage to Italian scientist Margherita Hack with an animated doodle.
In 1995, Hack is credited with discovering asteroid 8558 Hack, which was named after her.
Hack was born in Florence on June 12, 1922, and was a full professor of astronomy at the University of Trieste.
She was also the first Italian woman to be in charge of the Trieste Astronomical Observatory, which she led from 1964 until 1987.
