Mohammad Nabi’s Sensational Decision: Farewell to ODIs!
Afghanistan star cricketer Mohammad Nabi has made a major announcement regarding his cricketing career.
Nabi has decided to retire from One Day Internationals (ODIs) after the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
Chief Executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Naseeb Khan, confirmed the development, stating that Nabi has already communicated his decision to the board.
“After next year’s Champions Trophy, Mohammad Nabi plans to retire from ODIs. He had informed the board about this a few months ago. We respect his decision. Although he will be retiring from ODIs, we hope he continues to contribute in the shorter formats,” Khan said.
The 39-year-old Mohammad Nabi began his international cricket career with ODIs in 2009. Over his 15-year career, the all-rounder has played 165 ODIs for Afghanistan, amassing 3,537 runs, including two centuries, and taking 171 wickets.
Additionally, Nabi has represented various teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He made his IPL debut in 2017 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
He has also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) during his IPL career.
