Nara Bhuvaneswari, spouse of Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, took to social media to extend her greetings to children on National Children’s Day, observed on November 14th, commemorating the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
In her message, Bhuvaneswari emphasized the importance of evaluating a society based on how it treats its children, echoing a sentiment expressed by Nelson Mandela.
She asserted that to assess a government’s performance, one should examine what it does for children.
Reflecting on Chandrababu Naidu’s commitment to child welfare, she recalled his past collaboration with Kailash Satyarthi, a renowned child rights activist, during a walkathon aimed at protecting children’s rights.
Naidu became the first Chief Minister in India to lead a street march alongside the public to address issues like child sexual abuse and trafficking.
Bhuvaneswari highlighted this as an example of his dedication and sincerity towards child welfare.
She further stressed that safeguarding and educating children is not solely the responsibility of parents but of society as a whole.
By morally upholding this responsibility, society can shape a future generation that the world can take pride in.
