1- “Insensitive”: IKEA India receives criticism for a statement regarding “racist” at a store in Hyderabad
After its Hyderabad shop issued an explanation regarding claims of racism, IKEA India is receiving criticism.
According to a journalist and his wife, only the female customer who made individual purchases at a store in Hyderabad was frisked while other customers weren’t.
Minister for Telangana KT Rama Rao referred to the situation as regrettable and requested the business to extend an apology.
Internet users, however, were incensed by IKEA’s later clarification since it provided justification for the claimed “racial profiling” of the Manipuri woman.
