Former Indian Spinner Harbhajan Singh’s Stern Remarks on Pakistan Cricket Board ‘s Champions Trophy Handling

Former Team India spinner Harbhajan Singh has strongly criticized Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan cricket team over their approach towards the Champions Trophy tournament. He urged them to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament instead of being stubborn.

Next year, Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy tournament. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to hold India’s matches at neutral venues, proposing a hybrid model for the tournament. Initially, the PCB rejected this proposal but recently agreed to it.

Nevertheless, the PCB has now demanded that future matches between India and Pakistan be held at neutral venues, refusing to send their team to India. Harbhajan Singh severely criticized this proposal, stating that no team prefers touring Pakistan due to the prevailing unrest.

He emphasized that if the Pakistan team does not tour India, no one would be concerned. Harbhajan made it clear to the PCB that it doesn’t matter if they don’t come to India.

Harbhajan also praised Pakistani cricket fans, recalling the unforgettable hospitality he received during his past visits to the country.

He mentioned that during his visits, restaurant owners refused to take money from him, and some even honored him with shawls.

While he expressed sadness that Pakistani fans won’t have the opportunity to see Indian cricketers in person, he clarified that it’s not the fans’ fault but rather the current circumstances in Pakistan that prevent the Indian team from touring there.

Harbhajan Singh’s sharp remarks on PCB’s stance regarding the Champions Trophy have sparked significant discussions. While he appreciated the warmth of Pakistani fans, he firmly criticized PCB’s current approach, emphasizing the need for practical solutions.
