Rumours of Pawan Kalyan joining PM Modi’s Cabinet are circulating
The name of Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan is making the news following reports of union cabinet enlargement.
The name of BJP Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao is also dominating the news as a possible candidate for a position in the union cabinet.
According to the BJP’s version, if the key position is offered to Pawan Kalyan, he will reap two political benefits.
Nirmala Sitharaman, Suresh Prabhu, and Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Chowdhary from the alliance TDP were inducted into the NDA-1 cabinet.
The political situation in NDA-2 has completely changed as the ruling coalition has withdrawn.
Suresh Prabhu is the only Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh who holds the ministry post.
Without an alliance, the BJP was unable to win a single MP seat in 2019.
TDP leaders Sujana Chowdhary, TG Venkatesh, CM Ramesh, and Garikipati Mohan Rao joined the BJP in NDA-2.
Garikipati Mohan Rao’s term has expired, and Suresh Prabhu’s term as a Rajya Sabha member is coming to an end.
The Jana Sainiks are reportedly dissatisfied because the Jana Sena assisted the BJP in the GHMC and Tirupati by-elections without nominating its own candidates.
The BJP-Jana Sena alliance is likely to be expanded by offering Pawan Kalyan a position in the union cabinet.
According to BJP sources, Pawan Kalyan’s appointment to the cabinet may benefit the BJP’s political prospects in two Telugu states.
The high command believes that by appointing the Jana Sena chief as a union minister, they can win the majority of votes from the Kapu community in the upcoming elections.
