Prime Minister Modi Reaches Ukraine by Train; Details of the Visit Kept Highly Confidential!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Ukraine, a country devastated by war for nearly two and a half years, has begun.
After concluding his visit to Poland, Modi traveled to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, by train. He spent approximately 10 hours on the “Rail Force One” train before arriving in Kyiv.
Modi’s visit to Ukraine comes at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the Kyiv railway station, Indians living in Ukraine welcomed Modi with national flags. Members of the ISKCON group in Ukraine also participated in the welcome ceremony.
Due to security reasons, the details of Modi’s itinerary have been kept confidential. According to local Ukrainian time,
Modi arrived in Kyiv at 7:30 AM. From there, his convoy, under heavy security, proceeded to the Hyatt Hotel where he will be staying. Indians gathered at the hotel to welcome him as well.
Modi‘s visit to Ukraine is expected to last around seven hours. As part of his visit, he will pay homage at the bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi located in the A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden.
This statue was installed in 2020 to commemorate Gandhi’s 151st birth anniversary. Modi will also visit the Ukrainian National Museum, where he will observe exhibits related to the major crises faced by Ukraine.
He is expected to pay tribute to the children who lost their lives in the Russian attacks.
Following this, Modi will proceed to the Mariinsky Palace, where he will be welcomed by President Zelensky.
The two leaders are expected to engage in private discussions on key issues at the palace.
