Komatireddy Praises CM Revanth Reddy’s Efforts for Regional Ring Road Progress
The Union Government is set to commence work on the northern segment of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR). The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to construct the Greenfield Regional Expressway as a four-lane road. The project will be executed in five packages, with tenders recently invited for these works. Telangana’s Roads and Buildings Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, responded to this development, highlighting its significance.
“This is a remarkable achievement of the Congress government within a year,” said Minister Komatireddy. He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s initiative and efforts for making the RRR tenders a reality. He called it a historic day for Telangana and described the RRR project as a pathway to a brighter future for the people of Telangana.
Tender Details
The tenders for the RRR project will be accepted from January 27 until 11:30 AM on February 14. The NHAI will open the tenders on February 14, marking a crucial milestone in the project.
Efforts Behind the Project
Minister Komatireddy noted that, along with CM Revanth Reddy, several representations were made to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. Although the RRR was proposed as early as 2017, he criticized the previous government for neglecting the project, causing delays. Since assuming office in December 2023, he has worked relentlessly to move the project forward.
The minister added that multiple meetings were held with district collectors to resolve land acquisition issues. He described the RRR as a “super game-changer,” surpassing the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in its impact.
Komatireddy concluded by emphasizing the vital role the RRR will play in Telangana’s development and prosperity.
