Rohit Sharma Dismissed Five Times by Opposing Captain

Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has added a rare, unwanted record to his name during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Despite being known for his exceptional batting skills, Rohit has struggled throughout the series. In the fourth Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), he was dismissed after scoring just 3 runs off 5 balls. Facing Australian captain Pat Cummins’ bowling, Rohit edged a delivery to Scott Boland and was caught out.

This dismissal marked an unusual milestone for Rohit Sharma in Test cricket. He has now become one of the few captains to be dismissed five times by an opposition captain’s bowling. With this, Rohit joins the likes of cricketing legends Sunil Gavaskar and England’s Ted Dexter.

Sunil Gavaskar was dismissed five times by Pakistan’s iconic captain and all-rounder Imran Khan.

Similarly, England’s former captain Ted Dexter faced the same fate against Australia’s legendary captain Richie Benaud.

Now, Rohit Sharma finds himself in this unwanted category after his dismissal by Pat Cummins during the Boxing Day Test.

The series continues to be challenging for Rohit, whose form has been a cause for concern. Fans and cricket experts will hope for a turnaround in his performance in the remaining matches.
