Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Sees Over 3.2 Million Devotees This Year

The renowned pilgrimage site, Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, has been closed following the conclusion of the Mandala season. The temple was shut yesterday afternoon after the completion of the Mandala Puja.

Temple authorities announced that the shrine will remain closed until December 29. It will reopen on December 30 at 5 PM for the Makara Vilakku season.

On January 14, during the auspicious occasion of Makara Vilakku, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Sabarimala to seek Lord Ayyappa’s blessings.

This year, 32,39,756 devotees visited the temple to offer prayers, compared to 28,42,447 devotees last year.
