Indian Women’s hockey warriors go down in bronze match | Make India proud, nevertheless- India In Olympics The Indian women’s hockey team was beaten 3-4 by Great Britain in today’s bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympic 2020.  The team fought valiantly in the match, but fell to world no. 4 Great Britain, who won gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics. After falling down 2-0, the Indian women’s team rallied to take a 3-2 lead at halftime.  However, Great Britain’s Hollie Pearne-Webb equalised in the third quarter.  Great Britain took the lead when Grace Balsdon contributed in the fourth quarter and earned a bronze medal. Tokyo Olympics Hockey: India’s Women’s Team Loses Semi-Finals To Argentina; Fight For Bronze-India In Olympics The ambition of India’s women’s hockey team was dashed on Wednesday.  It was beaten 1-2 by Argentina in the semi-final encounter.  Despite the fact that Gurjit Kaur gave India an early lead by converting a penalty corner,  Argentina equalised in the second quarter, with captain Noel Barrionuevo scoring.  The Argentine skipper has scored again in the third quarter, putting India on the back foot. Argentina will now compete for the gold medal against the Netherlands, while India will compete for the bronze medal against the United Kingdom. Asian Champion Pooja Rani loses in quarters, misses Olympic medal-India In Olympics Boxer Pooja Rani (75kg) was beaten by China’s Li Qian on Saturday, forcing the Indian to exit from the current Tokyo Olympics.  Li Qian won the fight with a score of 5-0. China’s Li Qian received a perfect score from all five judges, while Pooja received a nine.  Pooja was defeated in the first round by the Chinese fighter, who won 5-0.
