Agri Gold depositors of up to 20k to get money back soon-CM Jagan Customers who made deposits of up to Rs 20,000 with the scam-hit AgriGold business will soon get their money back. The State Crime Investigation Department (CID) has passed out special instructions. It has asked that Agri Gold depositors with deposits of less than Rs 20,000 register their identities at village/ward secretariat offices. It should be done between August 6 and 12 in order to get their deposited money on August 24, AP CID stated. Press release issued by the CID stated that, Agri Gold customers with deposits ranging between Rs10,000 and Rs 20,000 should visit village/ward secretariats. They should register their names by bringing original bond papers, receipts, cheque pay orders, bank pass books, and photocopies of their Aadhaar cards. The village secretariat volunteers will input the AgriGold customers’ information so that the govt may transfer the money into their bank accounts on Aug 24. According to the CID, only one claim per client will be allowed. In the event of the depositor’s death, the government will deposit the funds into the bank accounts of the legal heirs if the certificate is shown. Agri Gold depositors who previously received Rs10,000 are not eligible for the Rs20,000 bonus. Customers of Agri Gold who have not made a single deposit are eligible for Rs 20,000. Depositors may obtain further information by calling the toll-free number 1800 4253 875. The CID has said that the funds would only be put into the customers’ bank accounts. Cash in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 would be placed in depositors’ accounts. On August 24, CM Jagan would send funds to the victims’ accounts with the press of a single button. Recently, AgriGold customers and agents held a relay fast in Vijayawada under the aegis of the AgriGold Customers and Agents Association. It has asked the government reimburse deposits.
