Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs wins Men’s 100m Gold at Tokyo 2020 Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy won the men’s 100m gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, ending the 13-year reign of retiring Jamaican star Usain Bolt. Jacobs, 26, broke a European record of 9.80 seconds in the final on Sunday, with American Fred Kerley taking silver in 9.84 seconds. Canada’s Andre de Grasse, a bronze medallist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, completed the feat in 9.89 seconds. Jacobs jumped into the arms of Gianmarco Tamberi, his Italian teammate who had just won gold in the men’s high jump and was waiting for him at the finish line.
