Sourav Ganguly birthday: Mamata brings flowers; how Sachin and Sehwag wished former captain On Thursday, Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI and a former captain of India, turned 49.  West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid a visit to the BCCI president’s house in Behala, south Kolkata, to wish him a happy birthday.  Mamatha’s first visit to the cricket legend’s house comes two months after she swept to power in the state.  Ganguly received a bouquet of yellow roses from the chief minister. Ex-India dashing opener Virender Sehwag posted on his Twitter account about Ganguly’s enthusiasm and commitment. His opening partner, Sachin Tendulkar, had a special request for him.
