Plot Summary: “Shivam Bhaje” is a Telugu film directed by Apsar, starring Ashwin Babu as the protagonist, Chandu, a middle-class young man who works as a loan recovery agent.
The story unfolds as Chandu, who lost his father at a young age and harbors resentment towards Lord Shiva, falls in love with Shailaja, played by Digangana Suryavanshi, who works at a chemical manufacturing company.
As the story progresses, Chandu’s life takes a drastic turn when he loses his eyesight in an attack by a gang. Following a successful eye transplant, he begins to experience strange visions, which he cannot understand.
Simultaneously, a conspiracy by China and Pakistan to cause havoc in India is revealed, leading to a series of murders of key individuals linked to the chemical industry.
Arbaaj Khan plays ACP Murali, who investigates these murders. Chandu realizes that the people he sees in his visions are later found dead.
This revelation propels the story into a mystery surrounding his new eyes and the strange events unfolding around him.
Critical Analysis: The film attempts to blend supernatural elements with a contemporary narrative but falls short of expectations due to its loosely woven screenplay.
The story is divided into multiple subplots involving international conspiracies, serial killings, and Chandu’s eye operation, which create confusion rather than clarity for the audience.
The lack of focus on the romantic track between the leads also detracts from the overall impact, leaving the mass audience dissatisfied.
The action sequences lack emotional depth, causing them to feel superficial.
The attempt to maintain suspense around a character’s true nature does not deliver the intended thrill due to the predictable casting choices.
The film’s failure to effectively connect its various elements results in a lackluster viewing experience.
Performances and Technical Aspects: Digangana Suryavanshi’s portrayal of the glamorous heroine fails to utilize her potential in the love and romance segments, leaving viewers wanting more.
Hyper Adi’s comedic punches provide occasional relief but are not enough to elevate the film. Vikas Baadisa’s background score is mediocre, while the cinematography by Dasharathi Sivendra and editing by Chota K Prasad are adequate.
Conclusion: “Shivam Bhaje” struggles to engage the audience due to its disjointed narrative and missed opportunities in storytelling.
The film’s exploration of foreign conspiracies, serial killings, and the protagonist’s journey towards divine faith could have been more compelling with better execution.
Overall, the movie does not fully deliver on its premise, leaving viewers with an unsatisfying experience.
