Rishabh Pant Leads Scoring as Indian Batters Collapse in Sydney Test
In the ongoing fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Indian batsmen faltered once again. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Team India was all out for 185 runs in 72.2 overs.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was the top scorer with 40 runs. Other notable contributions came from Shubman Gill (20), Ravindra Jadeja (26), and captain Jasprit Bumrah (22). However, KL Rahul (4) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (10) failed to make an impact. Virat Kohli (17) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (0) also disappointed with their performances.
Australia’s bowlers were in fine form, with Scott Boland claiming 4 wickets. Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets, Pat Cummins grabbed 2, and Nathan Lyon secured 1 wicket to restrict India to a modest total.
