Telangana schools and all educational institutions to reopen from February 1 amid decline in Covid-19 cases
Hyderabad: After a long Sankranti festival break, Telangana’s schools and institutions will resume on February 1.
Sabita Indra Reddy, Telangana Education Minister, stated on Saturday that all educational institutions in the state will resume courses in physical format on Tuesday.
She said unequivocally that all educational institutions are required to adopt Covid restrictions on their grounds.
Telangana schools were closed from January 8 to January 18 for Sankranti holidays.
However, due to an increase in the number of Covid cases, the state administration extended the breaks until January 30 on January 16.
During this time, however, the government allowed schools to hold online classes.
The decision is being made in response to dwindling Covid enrollment in the state, as well as the fact that numerous other states are progressively restarting physical-mode sessions.
The declaration by the state administration comes a day after the High Court questioned it on the matter.
The High Court had asked the state administration on Friday if schools will resume on January 31.
The state government attorney said that a decision on the subject is still pending.
