Aishwarya Rajesh enjoys a significant fan base in Tamil cinema. She has made her mark by acting alongside star heroes and in female-centric stories.

Her film ‘Theera Kaadhal’ was released in Tamil theaters on May 26, 2023, and later made its way to OTT. Directed by Rohin Venkatesan, this movie is now available in Telugu as well.

Gautam (Jai) works in a company in Chennai. His family includes his wife Vandana (Shivada) and daughter Aarti. Vandana also works as an HR Manager.

Their life is going smoothly without any issues. One day, Gautam sets out for Mangalore on a business trip and meets Saranya (Aishwarya Rajesh) on the train.

Despite some initial awkwardness, they greet each other.

Gautam tells Saranya that he is going to Mangalore. Saranya mentions that she is also headed there for an important task.

They share stories about their families—Gautam about his wife and children, and Saranya about her husband Prakash. They continue to meet and spend time together in Mangalore, growing closer.

During their college days, Gautam and Saranya were in love, but Saranya’s parents disapproved of their marriage.

Unable to defy her parents, Saranya married Prakash, who is depicted as a short-tempered and impatient man. Saranya confides in Gautam about the torment she faces from Prakash. Feeling pity for her, Gautam listens sympathetically.

Even after returning to Chennai, Saranya can’t forget Gautam. She separates from her husband and moves into a flat opposite Gautam’s.

She frequently calls him, causing tension and worry for Gautam, who fears what might happen if his wife Vandana finds out. He struggles to keep his interactions with Saranya a secret.

Vandana notices changes in Gautam’s behavior and senses that he is hiding something. Saranya insists that Gautam should leave Vandana and be with her since she has left her husband.

She pressures him to convince Vandana. The story unfolds as Gautam decides what to do next, leading to dramatic consequences.

The film explores the natural progression of college romance into the reality of married life, depicting how love from the past can remain a beautiful memory rather than a present complication.

The director has presented this storyline interestingly.

Despite having only three main characters, the film remains engaging throughout. The screenplay is neat and maintains interest from start to finish with well-placed dramatic moments.

Many will relate to the story of a young man torn between his lover and his wife.

The lead actors have delivered strong performances, bringing authenticity to their roles. Real locations add to the film’s realism.

Ravi Varman’s cinematography, Siddhu Kumar’s background score, and Prasanna’s editing enhance the narrative.

The film‘s engaging story, well-crafted characters, unexpected twists, and turns make it a recommended watch for families.
