Vasireddy Padma, a senior woman leader and former chairperson of the Women’s Commission, has resigned from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), delivering another significant blow to the party.

After distancing herself from party activities for some time, she has now formally announced her resignation and sent her resignation letter to party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Press Meet on Her Resignation
In a press conference addressing her resignation, Padma expressed deep dissatisfaction, stating that she and many others have been facing grave injustice within the party for quite some time.

She also accused the leadership of betraying not only the party members but also the people of the state.

According to her, Jagan is leading the party and the state towards deception, and this is the primary reason for her decision to leave the party.

Criticism of Jagan’s Rule
Padma pointed out that during her tenure as the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, she did her best to help women, but it was a mistake to think that Jagan’s governance would usher in a golden era for women.

She criticized the fact that despite the government being in power, several horrific incidents involving women occurred. She questioned why neither the Chief Minister nor the Home Minister visited the victims’ families during such events.

Furthermore, she expressed her anger over the current political practice of using women as pawns for political gain.

Public Opinion Aligns with Her Views
Padma remarked that her views are now in alignment with the sentiments of the millions of people in the state, who limited Jagan’s party to just 11 seats in recent elections.

She emphasized that she is not alone in her fight and that many are standing by her side. She made it clear that her fight against Jagan is not a solitary battle but part of a collective struggle.

While acknowledging the police’s efforts in arresting criminals, she stressed the need for a stronger system that can prevent crimes from occurring. To achieve this, she called for the initiation of social programs.

Allegations of Political Conspiracy
Padma accused some individuals of plotting to completely remove her from politics. However, she declared her determination to fight against the injustice she has faced and made it clear that she has no intention of stepping away from politics.

She concluded by affirming her commitment to stand with the people and continue her political journey.
