Health Crisis: Vinod Kambli Hospitalized Amid Declining Condition
Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli’s health condition has deteriorated, leading his family to admit him to a private hospital in Thane on Saturday.
After conducting medical tests, doctors delivered a concerning diagnosis on Monday, revealing a blood clot in his brain.
Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is overseeing Kambli’s treatment, shared that the former cricketer was initially admitted to a hospital in Kalher, Bhiwandi, with complaints of a urinary tract infection and dizziness. Following a series of tests, the medical team discovered a blood clot in his brain.
Dr. Trivedi confirmed that Kambli is under continuous observation, and additional medical tests are scheduled for Tuesday to assess his condition further.
He also mentioned that the hospital’s in-charge, S. Singh, has decided to provide free lifelong medical treatment to Kambli.
Vinod Kambli, who was part of the Indian squad during the 1996 Cricket World Cup, has faced health challenges and financial difficulties since his retirement.
He was recently seen attending an event in memory of his childhood coach, Ramakant Achrekar, where he appeared frail. During the event, he was visibly emotional upon reuniting with his long-time friend and former teammate Sachin Tendulkar.
Several former cricketers, including ex-Indian captains Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, have reportedly stepped forward to offer assistance to Kambli after learning about his health condition.
