The northern portions of India are still experiencing extremely high temperatures, even though the monsoon rains have arrived in the southern regions. Animals are also feeling the effects of this extreme heat, not only people.

Recently, a monkey in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, suffered from heatstroke. Fortunately, bystanders spent little time in rescuing the monkey, and footage of the ordeal quickly spread over the web.

The footage depicts a female monkey plummeting from a tree after losing consciousness from heatstroke. The monkey was able to sit up and recuperate partially when some people massaged its body and poured cold water over it. Another person later made an attempt to give the monkey oral rehydration solution (ORS).

According to the residents, the monkey did drink it eventually, even though it was slow to do so. The monkey was also given a cold oil massage. Thanks to the efforts of the locals, the monkey’s life was saved.

The neighbors’ kind treatment of the mute beast has garnered praise from internet users. The summertime plight of animals is tragic,” one commenter said. Few people give them a second thought.

The locals’ heroic actions in rescuing the monkey are quite inspiring. A other participant said, “Only if people plant trees locally will animals find protection from the heat in the future.”

Someone else stressed the importance of people always stepping in to save animals that are heatstroke victims.

This type of thing has happened in Uttar Pradesh previously. A monkey in the town of Bulandshahr recently fell from a tree after suffering from heatstroke.

Vikas Tomar, a constable who was present at the scene, saved the monkey.
