Virat Kohli Scores 3 Runs, Surpasses Rahul Dravid’s Record in Brisbane Test

India’s batting faltered in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane, losing four key wickets for just 44 runs. Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) and Shubman Gill (1), while Josh Hazlewood removed Virat Kohli (3) and Pat Cummins claimed Rishabh Pant (9).

Fans expressed disappointment over Kohli’s continued struggles against deliveries outside the off-stump. Cricket great Sunil Gavaskar also criticized Kohli for repeatedly falling to similar dismissals.

Milestone Achievement Despite Low Score

Although Kohli managed only three runs, he surpassed Rahul Dravid’s record for most Test runs by an Indian against Australia. Kohli’s tally now stands at 2,168 runs from 48 innings, edging past Dravid’s 2,166 runs in 62 innings.

The top two positions in the list remain with Sachin Tendulkar (3,630 runs) and VVS Laxman (2,434 runs).

Persistent rain hampered play throughout the day. By the end of the third session, India was at 48/4 in 14.1 overs, trailing by 397 runs, with KL Rahul (30) and Rohit Sharma (0) still at the crease. Australia earlier posted a commanding first-innings total of 445 runs.
