Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024: India Crowned Champions
Rajgir (Bihar): The Indian women’s hockey team delivered a stellar performance to clinch the title at the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 without facing a single defeat.
On Wednesday, India triumphed over China 1-0 in the final to emerge as champions.
Deepika scored the decisive goal in the 31st minute, securing the lead for India. The first half of the match ended goalless despite India’s attempts.
Although India earned four penalty corners, they were unable to convert them into goals.
However, at the start of the third quarter, Deepika successfully converted a penalty corner into a goal.
In the second half, China made multiple efforts to equalize, but India’s defense stood strong, ensuring their victory.
This marks the third time India has won this title. Notably, South Korea has also won the trophy three times in the past.
