Covid-19 news: Mumbai engineering student designs air cooler for PPE kit
A doctor-mother’s suffering has led an engineering student to develop an ‘air cooler’ for PPE kits.
Nihal Singh Adarsh, a second-year student of K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai, has developed an air cooler for PPE kits. He has named it the Co-Tech ventilation system run by a lithium-ion battery and lasts for 6 to 8 hours on a single charge.
According to his version, the system helps doctors from heat and sweatiness caused by the suit worn by them treating COVID patients.
The system helps by circulating fresh air into the PPE kit every 100 seconds.
The product is priced at Rs 5500 and likely to be available from June, it is learned.
