Under the leadership of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the state cabinet convened today, during which it approved the AP Drone Policy.
Minister Parthasarathy briefed the media after the meeting, outlining the policy’s aims and expected impact.

- AP Drone Policy Approval: The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved the AP Drone Policy, aiming to attract investments worth ₹1,000 crore and generate revenue of around ₹3,000 crore. The policy is expected to create 40,000 jobs in the drone sector.
- Drone Manufacturing Hub: Andhra Pradesh intends to position itself as a global destination for drones, transforming Orvakallu into a drone manufacturing hub. Facilities for drone manufacturing, testing, and research and development (R&D) will be established across 300 acres.
- Skill Development and Training: The state will set up 50 drone skill development centers and 20 remote pilot training centers, aiming to train 25,000 individuals as drone pilots.
- Research Incentives: Educational institutions conducting drone research will be provided an incentive of ₹20 lakh each.
- Approval for Pending Payments: The cabinet approved the clearance of pending bills under the “Neeru-Chettu” program from 2014-2018.
- AP Data Center Policy 4.0: The cabinet also approved the AP Data Center Policy 4.0, recognizing the data center sector as a major market. Despite having more affordable land compared to cities like Hyderabad, AP has faced challenges in attracting data center investors. The new policy is designed to tap into this market potential.
