Tamil cinema icon Ajith Kumar’s latest film Good Bad Ugly has made a powerful impact at the box office, grossing ₹100 crore globally within just four days of its release. The film premiered on April 10 and has quickly become one of the year’s most prominent commercial successes.
Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly is an action-comedy thriller that marks the 63rd film in Ajith Kumar’s career. The actor takes on a challenging triple role, portraying characters that represent the “Good,” the “Bad,” and the “Ugly.” The film opened to strong demand across Tamil Nadu, debuting on 2,400 screens and collecting ₹28.5 crore on its opening day. This marks the highest opening day collection among Tamil films released in 2025 to date.
According to the film’s production unit, the action sequences were filmed under the guidance of international stunt coordinators, adding a global flair to its intense scenes. The cast also features Trisha as the female lead and Arjun Das in the role of the antagonist.
In a significant deal, global streaming platform Netflix acquired the film’s digital rights for ₹95 crore. Good Bad Ugly is expected to begin streaming on the platform in May. With a production budget estimated between ₹270 crore and ₹300 crore, the film’s current earnings trajectory positions it as a strong contender for one of 2025’s most successful Tamil releases, according to industry analysts.
